Colour
Appearance of colour can change in different environments. Look at your chosen sample under daylight and artificial light.
Your new carpet will appear about 15% lighter than a smaller sample so you may need to select a darker shade for the desired colour selection.
Darker colours may make a room appear smaller but can also give more impact, whereas lighter colours can create the appearance of a bigger space.
Do you have pets that shed fur? Consider your colour choice, as light fur will show up on dark coloured carpet and vice versa.
It is important to consider how existing carpet in your home may influence the colour of your new sample, so we suggest laying an old white sheet on top of your carpet before you place your new samples against your floor.
Price and quality
Carpet is one of the most affordable flooring options. It's usually quoted in linear meters (1m long x 3.66m wide – (the dimensions of a standard carpet roll). To convert to square meters, divide by 3.66. Although more 4M wide carpets are coming into the marketplace. The heavier the carpet the more yarn you are buying which affects the price and/or density. For quality assurance, look for the independent carpet classification performance rating label on the back of the sample.
